Iowa DNR asks people to stop pruning oak trees


DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says now is the time to stop pruning oak trees.

Forest Health Program leader with Iowa DNR, Tivon Freeley told KXCV/KRNW that the fungus oak wilt can infect trees during the warm season.

Freeley adds that no kind of tree should be pruned outside of winter if it can be helped.
